RMC was the architect for Madrona Condos.
Madrona Condos was recently completed in Bellingham. The new mixed-use building from developer RJ Group is located at 820 N. State St. on what was formerly the site of a dairy.
The old creamery, built in 1949, was demolished to make way for the new development which includes 111 condominiums and commercial space.
During the planning phase Madrona Condos went by State Street Creamery, and the units were originally to be apartments, as the DJC previously reported.
Condos at the six-story building run from studios to two bedrooms with prices starting at just under $300,000.
Many homes have views of Bellingham Bay, the city, or surrounding neighborhoods. There is also a rooftop terrace.
Parking includes a surface lot and one structured level. There is also ample bicycle storage.
The developer says the community is designed to support a range of residents, from first-time buyers and professionals to downsizers “seeking a low-maintenance home close to recreation, services, and everyday amenities.”
RMC Architects was the design architect for Madrona Condos. Milbrandt Architects was the architect of record.
Construction began in November 2024 and was completed this June. Exxel Pacific was the general contractor
The team also includes Bee Consulting, envelope; Geotest, geotechnical engineer; Cascade Design Group, landscape architect; DCG Engineering, structural; Bartlett Consulting, arborist; Freeland & Assoc., civil engineer; Ronald T. Jepson & Assoc., surveyor; and Windsor Engineering, electrical and plumbing.
