Stillaguamish Tribal Enterprise Corp. is breaking ground today on a $20 million hotel at its Angel of the Winds Casino at 3438 Stoluckquamish Lane near Arlington.

Bellingham-based Exxel Pacific is the general contractor for the five-story building, which will contain 125 hotel rooms and space for new gift and smoke shops. The 100,000-square-foot expansion will have a porte-cochere.

Room configurations will be: one king bed in 355 square feet, two queens in 400 square feet and two-bay suites of 800 square feet. Rates haven’t been set, but a tribal spokesman said they expect to charge $120 a night when it opens in early 2015.

The hotel is expected to create 50 jobs.

Hnedak Bobo Group of Memphis, Tenn., is the architect. Rider Levett Bucknall, which has an office in Seattle, is the owner’s representative.
