General contractor Exxel Pacific recently announced the completion of Artline. The new mixed-use apartment building sits right on the line between Ballard and Fremont (an area locals call Frelard) at 106 N.W. 36th St.
The 65-unit project replaced an old commercial building on a tight, steeply sloped hillside. Dickson demolished the old building in spring 2024.
Artline was developed by Infinity Investment Group and designed by MZA.
The apartments range from studios to two-bedroom homes. Amenity spaces include a yoga studio, a rooftop firepit, a courtyard and bike racks.
Rents for studios with 483 square feet start at $1,700 a month. A two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit with 1,004 square feet is leasing for $4,122 per month. Through Seattle’s Multifamily Property Tax Exemption program, a portion of Artline’s homes are offered at reduced rental rates for households meeting income eligibility requirements.
The building’s leasing website pitches the community as offering “a well-connected, car-optional lifestyle.” A $1,000 discount is currently being offered to new residents who don’t want a parking space. For those who do have a vehicle, there is a small parking garage with 15 spaces.
The six-story project has been more than a decade in the making. The land traded to Infinity Investment group in 2014 for about $3.3 million, as the DJC previously reported.
Exxel Pacific broke ground early last year.
The mixed-use property also has two commercial spaces facing Northwest 36th Street, for which Paragon Real Estate Advisors is the broker. The two suites are 2,306 square feet and 2,451 square feet. They share a common corridor and communal restrooms.
Total project size is 41,385 square feet.
