60 new units at El Dorado West

The first phase of redeveloping El Dorado West, an assisted living and retirement community at 1010 S.W. 134th St. in Burien, will be completed soon.

This phase has 60 units. A second phase is expected to be done in a year and will have 42 units.

The 95,500-square-foot, two- and three-story structure will replace an older building that now houses El Dorado West.

It will have a beauty parlor, occupational and physical therapy program, housekeeping and meal services.

Charles Morgan and Associates is the architect, Exxel Pacific is the general contractor, and Simply Simpatico is the interior designer.

The project will cost $14 million, according to the owner, Village Concepts.

The Federal Way family-owned firm was founded in 1975. It has 15 senior living communities in Washington, with more than 1,400 residents. It also provides property management and consulting services for owners of assisted living communities.
