Harbor designs 160 workforce apartments for Fremont site

By JOURNAL STAFF

Harbor Urban showed plans for 160 apartments in Fremont earlier this month to a city design review board.

The four-story building at 3635 Woodland Park Ave. N. would have a mix of live-work units, studios, one- and two-bedroom units, and townhouses. A two-level underground parking structure would hold 130 vehicles.

The project is intended to be workforce housing.

Baylis Architects is the architect and Exxel Pacific is the contractor. The two firms worked together on Harbor’s recently completed Link apartments in West Seattle.

The live-work units would face Woodland Park Avenue. Designs show a pair of secured courtyards off Albion Place North, which runs along the west side of the building.

Parking would be off Woodland Park Avenue.

The 130,000-square-foot building will sit on a six-lot site where there is now a mix of small office, warehouse and apartment buildings.
